Dots took the DevDay stage on September 29, 2026. Here’s the useful part after the applause: access, setup, price, and controls.

What Dots is

Dots is an always-on agent in ChatGPT, powered by GPT-6 Astra. It has a cloud computer, connected apps, memory, and ongoing tasks. You can inspect activity, schedule recurring checks, set action rules, and optionally connect a computer.

Who gets access

Eligible Pro and Business Premium plans include the first Dot. Admins can enable a beta for Enterprise, Edu, and Healthcare workspaces. Rollout is gradual and varies by market. Check availability before upgrading.

The practical limits

Setup is a desktop job for now; mobile web is out, though the app may let you chat with an existing Dot as access rolls out. Texting is a limited beta for some US Pro users. Computer access is off by default; turn it on in the desktop app.

Pricing and usage

The first Dot is included at no extra cost in eligible Pro and Business Premium plans. You still need the eligible plan subscription. Deeper work has an allowance, with extended limits during the first month after launch. Task quotas and prices for additional Dots have not been published.

Review access before connecting apps

Connected information may be reviewed proactively and used to form memories. Disconnecting an app does not delete information already obtained. Reset deletes the Dot, including conversations, memories, and scheduled tasks.

The bits still in the fine print

Access varies by account and region. OpenAI hasn’t published task quotas or reliability numbers yet, so treat the first month like a trial run—not an autopilot lease.
